Subject: Fwd: Information re: MEA enrollment of Marin County electricity consumers
Dear Supervisor McGlashan,
You have chosen to refuse to voluntarily provide the public information requested so we may better understand why: The Marine Energy Authority unlawfully arrogated to its self the right to invade my and Marin electric consumer’s right to privacy for commercial purposes by including our names and addresses as members of the Marin Energy Authority and: Forcibly enrolled me and Marin electricity consumers in the Marin Energy Authority without our knowledge and consent. Thereby denying us the right of freedom of choice.
Your choice leaves me no alternative except to respectfully request that you provide the records requested by my 18 January 2010 email included below, in accordance with California Public Records Act. GOVT. CODE §§ 6250 - 6276.48.
You are respectfully requested to have the documents requested produced grouped by request number for ease of review.
As an American and registered Jeffersonian Democrat Marin Energy Authority I intend to defend my right to freedom from invasion of my privacy for commercial purposes and my right to free choice.
As Enron management bankrupted itself and its investors by malfeasance and mismanagement, the well intentioned but apparently seriously inexperienced and uniformed Marin Energy Authority may well bankrupt itself and its forcibly enrolled Marin electricity consumers.
Unlike Enron’s investors who freely chose to invest in Enron, Marin electricity consumers were forcibly enrolled in Marin Energy Authority without their prior knowledge, consent or freedom of choice to not to prior to being enrolled. Opting out of something one did not freely enroll in is not an acceptable free democratic choice.
Marin Energy Authority’s start-up and management, bulk renewal energy procurement and transmission costs will be additional cost to electricity consumers that are not currently included in PG&E rates which are controlled by the California Public Utility Commission. As a supplier of renewable energy to PG&E who controls Marin Energy Authority’s cost of supplying bulk electricity to PG&E, California’s Consumer Protection Agency or Marin Energy Authority?
There are no known cost competitive advantages to Marin electricity consumers by limiting PG& E to transmission of only Marin Energy Authority supplied bulk renewable energy. Marin Energy Authority will be an uncontrolled monopoly that will buy only renewable energy only. This will create a bulk renewable energy market to benefit Wall Street investors of billions of dollars in renewable energy stocks when currently no known bulk renewable energy market exists. Who will benefit? Such fat cat investors as T. Bone Pickens and GE, a major manufacturer of renewable energy wind mills in Detroit.
Since 1984 I thought that I lived in a Democratic stronghold. Last week I was disappointed and disgusted to learn that I apparently now live in an arrogant authoritarian County that has no respect for individual freedoms.
Prove me wrong. Ask Marin County electricity consumers to vote if they want to establish a new, self uncontrolled, costly government bureaucratic middle man between renewable energy companies and corporations and PG&E or if they want to require PG&E to purchase bulk electricity on the open market at the lowest rate.
Regards
Charles D. Sands
A registered Jeffersonian Democrat who voted for JFK.
