Subject: YOU ARE URGED TO ATTEND THE HVCA MEETINHG TONIGHT AND RAISE HELL .. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

 Attend the Homestead Valley Community Association meeting tonight at 7:30 PM, Dec. 7, at the Homestead Valley Community Center on Montford Ave. and protest the Homestead Valley Community Association's Board of Director's endorsing Marin Horizon School's (whose head mistress Roz Hammar is a HCA Board member) proposal to reduce the existing driving lane width of Evergreen Ave. by +/- 8 feet and building sidewalks on Evergreen and Melrose Ave. specifically to benefit Marin Horizon School by reducing its morning traffic count enabling it to retain MHS' Use Permit. An average of approximately 15 MHS student morning walkers were counted during a nine day survey.

 

There are no existent engineering traffic safety surveys/studies or student walker surveys/studies justifying reducing Evergreen Ave.' existent travel lane width by +/- 8 feet. 

 

Reduction in Evergreen Ave's width by +/- 8 feet. at the curve between Ethel and Linden Lane may well slow traffic to a stop if not into a one lane road. This reduction will endanger an average of 22 Homestead Valley student bikers going back and forth to Park and Mill Valley Middle School .

 

This Homestead Valley Community Association letter, signed by Al Wunthnow supporting Marin Horizon School's draconian proposal has no merit and does not represent the opinion of  a majority of Homestead Valley residents. It solely represents  Al Wunthnow's and Roz Hammar's uninformed and self serving opinions. A reading of Homestead Valley Community Association Bylaws prohibits HVCA endorsing any proposal that impacts the general welfare of our community.

 

YOU ARE URGED TO ATTEND TONIGHT AND DEMAND THAT THE HVCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS RESCIND AL WUNTHOW'S LETTER ENDORSING THIS DRACONIAN MEASURE.
