Subject: Marin Horizon School USE PERMIT violation
Marin Horizon School is in violation of its approved Revised Traffic Management Plan for Marin Horizon School dated March 2010 “Objective II-C: To minimize effects of Special Events on parking in the neighborhood and Strategy I-C.1-“Proviide temporary parking on the school’s playground blacktop”. “The school’s blacktop will be opened up to provide 50 regular parking spaces and 2 wheelchair accessible parking spaces”
Marin Horizon School has covered nearly 50% of the required 50 temporary playground “black top” parking spaces with astro turf.
Marin Horizon School March 2010 approved revised special events parking layout entitled Figure 3 – Major Special Event Parking Plan shows “50 regular parking spaces and 2 wheelchair accessible parking spaces and shows NO ASTRO TURF which Marin Horizon School installed in 2006 apparently without the knowledge and approval of the responsible authority.
Marin Horizon School is also in violation of its approved Revised Traffic Management Plan for Marin Horizon School dated March 2010 “Objective II-C: Strategy I-C.2 –“Restrict parking in Homestead neighborhood”. “MHS families attending Special Events should not park in the Homestead neighborhood. Instead of the blacktop parking lot is full, derivers are requested to follow strategies listed in Objective II-A and use satellite parking. Objective II-A requires Marin Horizon School to provide shuttle bus service and satellite parking for “black top” overflow Special Event attendee parking.
During Marin Horizon Special Events Marin Horizon vehicles are regularly parked on Evergreen all the way to Hawthorne Avenue...
You are respectfully requested to enforce approved Revised Traffic Management Plan for Marin Horizon School dated March 2010 “or rescind Marin Horizon Schools USE PERMIT for it willful violation of strategies I-C.1 and I.C. 2 included in required Board of Supervisor Resolution Condition of Approval 2005-105 page 27 Revised Traffic Management Plan for Marin Horizon School
