Mr. Campagna,

As of today, 27 June 2010, Marin Horizon School remains in violation of California Building Code's requirement that the school provide a accessible passenger loading zone on Melrose Ave.

Per your letter below the school suposedly was preparing a compliant designed set of plans fpr permitting and once permitted, MHS would have a window Jun 11-25 and another August 9-27.

The June 25 window has been passed.

Please advise where I may review MHS' proposed plans for construction of code compliant accessible passenger loading zone on Melrose Ave. and the proposed construction start and completion dates.

Best regards,

Charles

Goodmorning. The County of Marin has met with Marin Horizon School officials and theyare working with their engineer to prepare revised plans for a compliantloading zone. Once a compliant designed set of plans is permitted, theyhave a window Jun 11-25 and another August 9-27 between school closing andsummer camp starting that they want to target for construction. They havebeen advised of all code requirements. These dates remain tentativepending approval of plans. Thanks again for bringing thisissue to my attention. Can you provide a Marin Horizon School constructionschedule date for commencement and completion of work to provide an accessblepassenger loading zone?

I have just received a letter fromSenator Dianne Feinstein offering assistance in getting the U.S.Department of Justice involved if the county fails to require Marin Horizon School to conformto the Federal Americans With Disabilities Act.

Regards,

Charles
