Director Mansourian,

We respectfully advise you that we object to DPW's proposal to reduce Evergreen Ave's vehicle travel lanes to less than Caltrans minimum vehicle travel lanes width of 11'-0". And to less than the Section 24.04.110 minimum width of 36'-0" for a road classified as Residential consisting of 2 on-street parking lanes and 2 vehicle travel lanes without any engineering data to justify your proposed reduction in travel lane widths.

You are respectfully requested to provide for as an engineering basis for design and our information in accordance with Caltrans traffic study procedures a 30 day independent professional consultant's traffic study of the: Average daily traffic (ADT) traffic; Average total number of morning and afternoon peak hour vehicle trips: Frequency of vehicle morning and afternoon peak hour vehicle trips per minute; Percentage of total number of vehicle morning and afternoon peak hour vehicle trips that are Marin Horizon School trips; Monitor the speed, identity and license number of morning and afternoon vehicles exceeding 25 MPH and; Recognized national standards used to determine that travel lane "traffic calming" narrowing measures are appropriate. Consultant shall state that his findings have not been altered to skew his findings under penalty of perjury.

Marin Horizon School vehicles are easily identified as Marin Horizon School parent vehicles are required to have an identifying "cling" sticker. See 2005-104 Marin Horizon School Environmental Impact Study, Appendix B Traffic Plan for Marin Horizon School, Parent Compliance, second bullet, page 70.

Your acknowledgement and reply is respectfully requested.
